JBD Recruitment are seeking to appoint a Teaching Assistant to support pupils with special educational needs and / or disabilities (SEND) on behalf of a mainstream primary school in Kent. The school site is beautiful, elevated and fringed with green playing fields and woods situated in Kent in a leafy and pleasant residential area. A fragrant quiet garden, pond and wooden structures in the grounds offer opportunities for happy playtimes. The school have just under 300 pupils in the primary and classes; and also have a designation for children with physical disabilities and complex medical needs who are all included in mainstream. Teaching Assistants at the school need to be to be positive team players, providing support to both teachers and children. This role involves working under the guidance and direction of the class teacher and SENCo. You will be part of the school’s ‘Wellbeing Team’ through which you will be well supported, including receiving a bespoke programme of professional development. The post is full time, term time only, working from 8:30am to 3:30pm. The successful candidate is likely to have some experience of working with pupils with special needs and understands a range of needs and strategies to support them.
